Day Skipper & Yachtmaster Theory

Yachtmaster & Day Skipper Theory consists of 40 hours of training - £550.00 places limited.

Monday 2nd October 19:00 to 21:00 over 6 Months 

Wednesday 2nd February 19:00 to 21:00 over 8 weeks & Satruday 5 Feb and every other Saturay

Our aim is to give you time to learn each subject, practice and test your knowledge, and in your busy life it allows you time to get some personal tuition!!

A comprehensive introduction to cruising for inexperienced skippers.

This course equips you with enough knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day. A basic knowledge of lights is also included to introduce you to night cruising.

Course topics include:-

• The basics of Seamanship

• The essentials of coastal navigation and pilotage

• Chartwort

• Position fixing

• Plotting a course to steer

• Weather forecasting and meteorology

• Tides

• IRPC - Collisison Regulations

• Construction, parts and equipment of a cruising boat

• Emergency and safety procedures including distress calls, use of flares, safety harnesses, lifejackets and liferafts

Course Cost £550 inlcuding course pack.
